American Standard Whiskey Bar in Bay Shore to Close After New Year’s Eve Party
American Standard Whiskey Bar, located at 53 West Main Street in Bay Shore, has announced it will close its doors for good after a final New Year’s Eve celebration. The current owners hinted that a new owner has already acquired the location and has plans for the downtown Bay Shore spot.
The announcement was made via their Instagram account, expressing gratitude to their loyal patrons and staff while sharing plans for their last days of operation.
“It is with much sadness that we announce that New Year’s Eve will be our last service at American Standard,” the post read. “We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support; most of all, our devoted staff who have shown an incredible amount of loyalty and dedication.”
The news was met with heartfelt comments from fans of the restaurant on social media.
“So sorry. We loved you,” wrote one commenter, @wdwsmiley. Another, @kkonrad2, added, “So sad to hear this. You guys were great!!”
Known for its extensive bourbon collection, the bar quickly became a favorite among whiskey enthusiasts. “Best bourbon selection on Long Island. Sad to see you guys go,” commented @libourbonsocial in Instagram.
American Standard opened in August 2023, bringing a southern comfort-inspired menu and an impressive selection of over 250 whiskeys to downtown Bay Shore.
Their final night, on December 31, will feature an all-you-can-drink open bar for $50 per person from 9 p.m. to midnight, with a High Noon toast at midnight. The menu includes cocktails, beer, wine, and top-shelf mixed drinks (shots not included).
Unused American Standard gift cards will be redeemable at Coastal Kitchen & Daiquiri Bar starting January 1, 2025.
Details about the next venture in the space remain unclear, but the owners expressed optimism for the future of downtown Bay Shore under new ownership.
