Blue Point Brewing Expands Its Shakedown on Main Street Festival for a Landmark 5th Year

Patchogue Brewery Gears Up for Its Biggest Summer Kickoff Yet

Blue Point Brewing Company is bringing the heat this May with the return of its 5th annual Shakedown on Main Street festival, an all-day celebration of live music, local art, and Long Island’s craft beer scene. Set for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the brewery’s Patchogue headquarters, the festival boasts a high-energy lineup featuring Ripe, known for their upbeat funk-pop sound, Badfish, a celebrated Sublime tribute band, Dogs in a Pile, delivering a jam-infused rock experience, and Ernie & the Band, blending blues, funk, and improvisational energy, plus the winner of Blue Point’s Battle of the Bands competition.

With interactive art installations, skateboarding showcases, and a diverse selection of local food trucks, the event promises a festival-meets-street-fair atmosphere that has made it a must-attend kickoff to the summer season on Long Island.

Bigger and Better Every Year

What started as a laid-back music fest at Blue Point’s Main Street location has evolved into one of Long Island’s premier craft beer and music festivals. Last year’s Shakedown on Main Street saw thousands of attendees come together for a full-day experience that included a massive outdoor stage, live mural painting, and food and drink from some of the region’s best vendors.

Blue Point Brewing’s Senior Brand Director Carrie Shafir says this year’s May date is meant to set the tone for the summer:

“Shakedown on Main Street has grown tremendously over the past five years, and we’re proud to continue this tradition. It’s our way of celebrating the incredible Long Island community we’re a part of.”

In 2024, the event’s headliner, Andy Frasco & The U.N., brought infectious energy to the stage, while festivalgoers enjoyed Blue Point’s signature brews, including Toasted Lager, Hazy Bastard IPA, and the event’s specialty small-batch releases.

Music, Beer, and the Battle of the Bands

Along with its stacked main stage lineup, the festival continues its tradition of showcasing local artists. Blue Point’s Battle of the Bands, held throughout February, will crown an emerging local act, giving them a chance to share the stage with national touring bands.

Last year’s competition saw up-and-coming musicians battle it out for a festival slot, adding an extra layer of excitement and discovery to the event. Fans can expect another round of talented contenders vying for a coveted spot on the 2025 lineup.
