Borrelli’s Restaurant Opens Taproom in Long Beach

Borrelli’s in East Meadow has opened a second location in Long Beach, replacing The Beach House on Beech Street. The original Borrelli’s was opened in 1955. The new spot, called Borrelli’s Taproom, has fired up a wood-fired pizza oven and pours craft beer.

The appetizer menu starts with a delicious sounding Italian Eggroll with sausage, broccoli rabe, pecorino and mozzarella ($17). There’s also a Big B Pretzel with alfredo cheese sauce and mustard ($13) and Italian Nachos with alfredo cheese sauce, sausage, white beans, bruschetta and cherry peppers ($19).

The brick oven pizzas include a classic cheese ($15), burrata ($20), margherita ($16) and a salissicia with sausage, mozzarella, caramelized onion and chili oil ($19).

Along with the food and drinks, Borrelli’s has been having a pretty regular comedy night since they opened.

Reviews for the new spot have been mixed.

Karen gave them five stars.

“Was at the Taproom for the first time Friday night,” she wrote. “The decor was a nice change from the usual Long Beach places.”

But on Yelp, Mackenzie D, from Rockville Centre, said she was “underwhelmed.”

Still it’s a new spot that has yet to find its footing (they opened in early May) and the summer is just heating up.

Location: 912 West Beech Street, Long Beach.
