Former Miller Place Inn Sold for $2 Million; New Catering Hall Planned

The former Miller Place Inn, a catering and event venue located at 195 North Country Road, has been sold for $2 million.

According to an article in Long Island Business News, Rena Hope LLC purchased the 11,000-square-foot building, which sits on 1.67 acres, with plans to renovate and reopen it as a catering hall next year. Bryan Karp of Coldwell Banker American Homes, represented the buyer. Carmine LiBretti of Industry One Realty represented the seller.

The property, built in 2002, had been vacant since its closure earlier this year. Once a popular wedding venue, the Miller Place Inn had a 250-seat capacity and was described as a “turn-key” banquet hall prior to its sale.

In recent years, the property has seen notable developments. Originally listed for $3.5 million, the asking price was reduced to $2.6 million earlier this year. The building features a single-story design, 81 parking spaces, and zoning designated as J2 under Brookhaven Town regulations.

The venue was also at the center of a 2020 COVID-19 controversy when Suffolk County fined the Miller Place Inn for violations related to a Sweet 16 party held at the property. The event led to 37 confirmed COVID-19 cases among attendees and more than 300 quarantines.

Renovations are expected to begin soon, with a new catering business anticipated to open its doors in 2025.
