I Am Nacho Mama Restaurant in Port Washington to Close
The owners of I Am Nacho Mama restaurant in Port Washington have announced that they will close their last remaining store on Long Island on July 31st due to illness. The announcement came on Instagram yesterday.
“As many of you know, we made the difficult decision to close our Hicksville location earlier this year as a result of my health,” Chef Carlos wrote on the post. “Since then my family and I have received so much support and love in response, and for that we are so grateful.”
Chef Carlos said that his health has improved and implied that his family was relocating to Georgia.
“…and much of this has been a result of our family moving away from the hustling bustling city and relocating in the Golden Isles of Georgia where I’ve had the amazing blessing of being able to slow down and as a result, heal,” he wrote.
While they closed their Long Island locations, the owners will be opening a new I Am Nacho Mama in Brunswick, Georgia at 290 Frontage Road Brunswick, GA, off 1-95, this August.
“We are so very grateful to have been a part of the Hicksville and Port Washington communities and will carry warm memories of your smiling faces, movie nights during the pandemic, moments at your weddings where we got to serve our food. and so many more special times you ‘ve given us,” Chef Carlos said.
