JTIs in Brightwater Closes Without Warning
JTI’s American Kitchen and Bar closed its doors suddenly and without warning in June. With no mention of the imminent closing on its Instagram account (the last post was from June 23rd advertising Monday Night Comedy) people have found the doors locked and the parking lot empty. Google also says the spot is permanently closed. He phone has been disconnected so calls will not go through to the number on the website.
We reached out to the restaurant for comment but as of the writing of this story w have not received a response.
JTI’s opened last year at 91 Howells Road in Brightwaters, at the very spot where the original Jon Thomas Inne used to be and the name itself paid homage to its origins. As a matter of fact, according to Newsday, chef and JTI’s owner Nicholas Trovato used to work at Jon Thomas Inne in his first kitchen job back in 1985.
