Mesita Mexican Restaurant Opens in Port Washington
Mesita has opened its third location at 1029 Port Washington Boulevard in Port Washington. The Mexican restaurant opened on Wednesday after hosting a preview the night before.
A completely redone interior matches the aesthetic of their other spots with ochre and wood tones, stencil art, and a Mexican vibe. The space formerly served as home to Waterzooi Belgian restaurant until it closed over the summer.
The Port Washington Mesita’s spacious dining room seats 194 people with 14 seats at the bar.
At the preview dinner before opening to the public, Mesita served a sampling of what’s to come including birria tacos, sizzling chicken fajita and a shrimp burrito. For dessert they had a delicious banana Xango. Of course the margs were flowing with their mega margarita and a flight of four different flavors.
Plans to open a fourth spot in Amityville at a former Chase Bank building are still in the works for later in 2024. Aside from Port Washington, Mesita has two other locations in Rockville Centre and Garden City.
