New Restaurant, Twisted Fork Brunch Company, Opening at Former Mediterranean Diner Space in Bellmore

When Mediterranean Diner in Bellmore shut its doors earlier this year, many lamented the closing of another traditional Long Island diner. The owners told Newsday that they fell victim to the one-two punch of the pandemic and skyrocketing food costs. They also said that a new concept would be coming to the spot.

It looks like they made good on that promise.

Brothers Pete and Chronis Tsempelis spent time concentrating on their other venture, Avenue Social Kitchen & Cocktails, which is across the street from Mediterranean Diner on Bedford Avenue. Just the other day, the Avenue Social Kitchen & Cocktails Facebook page announced that Twisted Fork Brunch Company would be opening at the former Mediterranean Diner space sometime in January 2024.

“We’re so excited to welcome Twisted Fork Brunch Company to the Bellmore community as they take over the former Mediterranean Diner space,” the post said.

There is no word on whether the Tsempelis brothers are the ones launching Twisted Fork Brunch Company or if they leased the space to someone else. LongIslandRestaurants.com reached out by email to the new restaurant for more details.

A Facebook page for Twisted Form Brunch Company expands a little on the plans without offering much more information saying that the new restaurants will offer a “unique brunch experience combining comfort and indulgence.”

“Our restaurant’s cozy and inviting atmosphere will make you feel right at home, whether you’re enjoying a leisurely brunch with a specialty latte or a boozy brunch with a zesty Bloody Mary,” the restaurant said in its post.

Where: 195 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
