Owners of Goldberg’s Famous Bagel Open Del Sol Hamptons Italian Restaurant in East Quogue
The owners of Goldberg’s Famous Bagels on the East End have opened a new eatery, Del Sol Hamptons, an Italian restaurant, which quietly opened in East Quogue taking over the former location of Cucina at 674 Montauk Highway. A little set back, you can find Del Sol Hamptons by turning into the lot by the Hamptons Brake sign.
There is no official website yet but there is a mention on the Goldberg’s Famous Bagels Instagram that Del Sol Hamptons is now open with a link to the new restaurant’s Instagram page.
Since the Goldberg family has already cornered the market with one Long Island fave food in bagels, why not another in pizza?
People are saying that Del Sol Hamptons is a no hassle kind of spot with great food that’s not going to hit you over the head with the bill.
The Instagram is filled with plates including a fresh steamed lobster, pizza pies like their garlic knot pizza, pork osso buco, fresh seafood salad and meatballs with ricotta among others. It’s billed as the type of place where you don’t have to sacrifice to keep everyone in the family happy – the kids can get pizza and parents can get a great dinner at the same time.
Online reviewers have been loving the unpretentious place in the Hamptons.
On Google, mykovasyl raved about the new spot.
“New ownership is killing it,” mykovasyl wrote. “Had the grandma pizza…OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD! Best grandma slice ever.”
Haley agreed.
“Have had several really wonderful dinners here since the new ownership took over,” she said. “The food is all fresh and incredibly inventive. We are so grateful to have a new and great restaurant in Quogue!”
The Goldberg empire is growing beyond bagels. Owner Marc Goldberg purchased a property in Sag Harbor last year and another in Wainscott. Most recently, it was announced that Goldberg is moving into a new location in Water Mill to launch a new food court concept this Fall, which will include pizza.
A source mentioned that the owner is Amanda Goldberg, who is the daughter of Marc and Denise Goldberg, the founders of the original Goldberg’s Famous Bagels in Southampton that launched an East End phenomenon. Amanda, a fourth-generation bagel restauranteur, is closely involved in the family business. She also launched the location in Greenport.
