Serving Up Slices of Love: Where to Get a Heart-Shaped Pizza For Valentine’s Day

By Benjamin William Stephens

It may sound cheesy, but if love can’t fill that void inside you this Valentine’s Day, maybe pizza can. From spicy to sublime, here are some of the Long Island pizza places offering heart-shaped pizzas this holiday.

Spaghettini Pizza in Mineola is a classic New York pizzeria offering heart-shaped pizzas complete with all the classic pizza toppings you’d expect. But Spaghettini Pizza is doing more for Valentine’s Day than making pizza as they are also hosting live music starting at 6:30pm as well as a special “Galentine’s Day” event on February 12 starting at 6:30 pm with live music, bingo, and a festive red and pink dress code.

Bellagio Pizzeria in Farmingdale is offering pizzas shaped to look like hearts. Joel Gullo, who doubles as both the pizzeria’s manager and chef, said the pizzas are hand-shaped into hearts and are made using the same ingredients as normal-shaped pizzas. “At Bellagio Pizzeria, we’ve always believed that pizza is a meal that brings people together, and what better way to celebrate love than with something that’s as universally adored as pizza?” Gullo said.

Umberto’s of Wantagh is the quintessential Italian American restaurant and while normal shaped pizza is available at Umberto’s all year, their heart pan pizzas will only be available on Valentine’s Day and orders for heart pan pizzas must be placed by Saturday, February 13.

Mario’s Pizzeria of Commack is offering special pizzas shaped like hearts for Valentine’s Day using local fresh packed non-GMO tomatoes.  But heart-shaped pizzas are not the only specialty pizzas offered by Mario’s as mac and cheese or even gyro pizzas complete with beef, lamb, and tzatziki sauce are also on the menu.

Salvatore’s of Elmont offers heart-shaped pizzas which can be ordered with the classic toppings you’d expect or even the word love written out in pepperoni. Pizza is not the only heart-shaped thing on the menu at Salvatore’s as heart-shaped ravioli are also available with an array of sauces to choose from.
