TGI Fridays in Farmingville Temporarily Closed; Future Uncertain

TGI Fridays’ location in Farmingville has closed its doors, with little clarity on whether this is a permanent move or a temporary closure. The restaurant, situated at 2240 N Ocean Ave in Farmingville, NY, has left locals wondering about its future.

According to its Google business listing, the Farmingville TGI Fridays is listed as “temporarily closed,” but repeated calls to the location have gone unanswered. The restaurant’s official website also confirms that it is “currently unavailable to accept online orders.”

Rumors are circulating on local community pages, with one user on a Farmingville Facebook group suggesting that the location may have closed for good. This claim has not been officially verified, but the user also asked, “Any plans for something to go into TGI Fridays on North Ocean Ave??”

When reached by phone, a representative from TGI Fridays stated that the location is “temporarily closed,” though they did not have a specific timeline for when the restaurant may reopen, if ever.

This closure comes amidst broader challenges facing the TGI Fridays chain, which has seen several locations close across the country in recent months. In fact last Fall, the company announced the closure of 50 additional locations as part of its ongoing financial difficulties. TGI Fridays has been struggling with a significant decline in its U.S. footprint and ongoing concerns about a bankruptcy filing.

For now, Farmingville joins the growing list of TGI Fridays locations with uncertain futures. Locals are left to wonder whether the iconic chain will be able to bounce back, or if this closure is part of a larger trend that could affect the remaining locations.

Update: The Riverhead location is also being reported as temporarily closed, while the fate of the Valley Stream location remains unclear, although at the time of this writing is still accepting online orders.
