Unique East Hampton Eatery Offering Smash Burgers and Bourbon, Called Smokey Buns, Opening on July 25th
The team behind Hamptons spots like Sag Harbor spots Sen and K Pasa, and Kumiso, and Kizzy T’s in East Hampton, is set to open their latest Hamptons venture. Smokey Buns is set to open on Thursday, July 25th at 68 Park Place in East Hampton, just a stone’s throw from Starbucks down the alley.
This new, year-round eatery is offering a unique blend of innovative smash burgers, a curated selection of nearly 50 bourbons and whiskeys, along with delicious ice creams.
Smokey Buns is looking to deliver a distinctive dining experience by combining classic American flavors with modern twists. The menu features a variety of options, from traditional smash burgers to vegetarian delights like mushroom smash burgers and grilled halloumi wraps. Guests can personalize their meals with an array of patty, topping, and sauce choices, ensuring a unique visit each time.
The restaurant’s menu is divided into several sections:
- Smokey Classics: Includes the Classic SmashBurger, All-American Smash Cheeseburger, Double Smash, Mushroom SmashBurger, and Spicy Chickenwich.
- Sides: Options like Naked Fries, Cheese Fries, and Loaded ‘The Works’ Fries.
- Burger D.I.Y.: Customizable patties including Classic Smash, Blackened Fish, Mushroom, and Crispy Chicken, with various toppings and sauces such as Smokey Sauce, Harissa Mayo, and Truffle Aioli.
- Handhelds & Pots: Featuring items like Grilled Halloumi Salad and a Chilli Pot.
- Desserts: Offers a selection of soft-serve and hard-scoop ice creams, with choices to make shakes or boozy shakes.
Smokey Buns also boasts an impressive array of daily specials:
- Monday: The Bourdain (mortadella, pickles, Swiss, toasted focaccia)
- Tuesday: The Tuesday Jerk (pulled jerk chicken, slaw, avocado, pineapple relish)
- Wednesday: Hamptons Hippie (hummus, cheddar, carrots, sprouts)
- Thursday: Thanksgiving Thursdays (turkey, stuffing, cranberry, gravy)
- Friday: Fish on Fridays (crispy fish, crispy potatoes, tartare sauce)
- Saturday: Pat & Gino’s (steak, cheese, roasted peppers, garlic mayo)
- Sunday: The Piggy (pulled pork, slaw, pickled jalapenos, apple sauce)
The beverage menu features creative cocktails like the Tokyo Twist and the Fir-Fashioned, as well as classics such as the Manhattan and the Boulevardier. The restaurant’s whiskey selection is among the most diverse on the East End, including notable brands like Johnny Walker Blue, Hibiki Harmony, and Yamazaki 12 Year.
Smokey Buns has seating for 16 indoors and 24 outdoor seats. The interior is a casual yet stylish atmosphere perfect for laid-back lunches and lively dinners.
