Waterzooi in Port Washington Closes For Good
Waterzooi, the Belgian bistro that has reigned in Garden City for 25 years, has closed its second location in Port Washington for good, the restaurant announced on Instagram. The spot at 1029 Port Washington Boulevard opened in 2020, was set to allow more Long Islanders to get familiar with Belgian cooking, featuring plenty of seafood.
The muscle dishes at Waterzooi’s Garden City location seem endless and not surprising since it’s a specialty of theirs and they claim to have served over 4 million pounds of mussels to date.
“We would like to send a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to help celebrate our last weekend in Port Washington,” the restaurant announced. “We are so thankful to our amazing staff and to the community for welcoming us into Port Washington.
The restaurant also said to stay tuned for an exciting new concept from the new owners of the Port Washington restaurant.
All Port Washington gift cards will be welcome in Garden City.
No word yet on what will replace Port Washington Waterzooi but we will update this story once more information becomes available.
