We’re in a Bit of a Pickle! There Are Nine Great Oktoberfest & Food Festivals to Choose From This Weekend on Long Island

Here’s the problem: There are nine-count ‘em-nine great festivals happening this weekend and we cannot choose between them. Between the mouth watering food festivals and Oktoberfest celebrations how can we pick just one? Our cup truly runneth over. See below for the bounty of festivals happening on Long Island this weekend and always remember to check our events calendar for everything else that’s coming up!

21st Annual Long Island Garlic Festival – The stinkiest festival on Long Island is coming on September 16th and 17th to Waterdrinker Manorville at 663 Wading River Road. Admission is $20 per person. Live music, vendor market, food trucks, family activities and garlicky goodness.

43rd Pickle Festival – The 43rd annual pickle festival is set for Saturday September 16th at Gardiner’s Farm in Huntington brought to you in conjunction with the Greenlawn/Centerport Historical Association.

San Gennaro Feast – You don’t have to go all the way into New York City for the feasts of all feasts. The annual San Gennaro Feast at Lenny Bruno Farms in Manorville is set for Saturday September 16th from 11 am to 7 pm and Sunday September 17th from 10 am to 6 pm.

Inaugural Oktoberfest Party at Sayville Bait & TackleBeer trailer, live music, vendors, and a stein holding contest! $25 ticket gets you your own stein + first fill, and a pretzel! Live music from Buoy 34. Saturday, September 16th from 2-6pm at Sayville Bait & Tackle, 220 N Main Street, Sayville.

Brew CheeseOktoberfest and Stein holding competition. The competition will kick off at Brew Cheese in Northport and the winners of this round will compete at Schnitzels on September 17th. More info to come. Saturday, September 16th at Brew Cheese, 40 Woodbine Avenue, Northport.

DUBTOBERFESTGet ready for the ultimate beer-lover’s paradise. Head over to DUBTOBERFEST, where you can savor the flavors of over 20 Long Island breweries, indulging in Traditional German Style and Fall Beers that’ll leave your taste buds dancing. That’s not all! They have an action-packed day planned: Delicious Food Trucks to satisfy your cravings, stein hoisting competitions to test your strength, music to keep you dancing and so much more! Saturday, September 16th at Destination Unknown Beer Company, 1 South Chicago Ave, Bay Shore.

4th Annual Das Biergarten OktoberfestBeer, food, outdoor seating and live music. Every weekend starting Saturday, September 16th until whenever at Das Biergarten, 1148 West Beech Street, Long Beach

Schnitzels Gastropub 1st Annual Oktoberfest Kickoff & Beer Stein Holding CompetitionSchnitzels will be hosting its 1st Annual Oktoberfest Kickoff & Beer Stein Holding Competition. Oktoberfest food specials, new beer lineup, and more! Sunday, September 17th at Schnitzels, 77 Main Street, Stony Brook. 2pm Please note: 1st round of the Beer Stein Holding Competition will be held at Brew Cheese Northport on September 16th.

OmpahfestExperience the closest thing on Long Island to actual Oktoberfest at the Plattduetsche Biergarten in Franklin Square beginning on Sunday, September 17, 2023 with its annual Ompahfest. Live music, authentic German cuisine, and activities for all! Sunday, September 17th at 11am at Plattduetsche Park Restaurant, 1132 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square.
