Youta Ramen Opens in Mineola
This new ramen place in Mineola says that it is offering a culinary experience focused on three specialties: ramen, donburi and buns.
Youta Ramen recently opened in the spot that used to be Samincha Peruvian restaurant. Before that it was El Encanto and Papa Sorto’s pizzeria. It’s in the same strip mall on Old Country Road as the new Mineola Mediterranean Cuisine that opened this April.
Start with an appetizer including their Shishito Truffle Salt, grilled Japanese pepper with truffle salt ($8) or the Tori Karaage, deep-fried chicken thigh with garlic mayo ($10). Ramen specialties include a Yota Tonkotsu Ramen, pork broth, chashu, menma, scallion, ajitama and garlic paste ($18), Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, pork broth, chashu, kikurage, scallion, ajitama and black garlic oil ($18) and a Shoyu Truffle Ramen, truffle veggie broth, maitake, shitake, kikurage tempura topped with menma and scallion ($16).
The bun menu has a variety that includes Chashu Bun, sliced chashu with BBQ sauce ($6), Shrimp Tempura Bun, shrimp tempura with mentai mayo sauce ($6) and a Mushroom Bun, grilled assorted mushroom with BBQ sauce ($6).
Donburi is a Japanese rice bowl dish. Try the Una Don with grilled freshwater eel, shredded egg, diced cucumber over rice ($25) or the Chashu Don, sliced chashu with ajitama over rice ($17).
Online reviewers have raved about the food and the interior decor.
On Yelp, Jose V gave them five stars.
“When first arriving at the restaurant the decor is beautiful from the inside and out, it’s very welcoming,” he wrote. “Now when it comes to the food it’s a better ball park then all other Japanese ramen places I have been… I truly recommend everyone to try this place out. It’s a great experience you don’t want to miss!”
