Zorba the Greek Restaurant in Port Jefferson Station Opening Express Location in Selden
Zorba the Greek in Port Jefferson Station is opening a new smaller, express restaurant in Selden in the Selden Plaza at 253 Middle Country Road. According to a person who answered the phone at the Port Jefferson Station spot, the owner is opening a second location with no plans to close their current restaurant.
For years, Staller Associates Realty has been planning to redevelop the Jefferson Plaza Shopping Center into a mixed-use complex, adding more apartments to the uptown area. There is no word yet if Zorba the Greek in Port Jefferson Station plans to stay in the newly constructed building, when it does happen.
The new location should be ready to open within a month, according to the person at Zorba the Greek who answered questions about the new restaurant but that was not set in stone. Many restaurants blow past their planned opening dates, sometimes a number of times. It will be located in a unit between Big Frog custom t-shirt shop and Miyu Ramen & Hibachi. The spot is the former location of Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop.
